Wreck of the SS Richard Montgomery, a US Liberty Ship that dragged her anchor and ran aground on the 20th August 1944. The wreck remains off Sheerness and still contains munitions.

Grain Tower, built 1855, during WW2 mounted two 6 pound QF guns and had accommodation block and observation post added.



Wreck of the SS Richard Montgomery, US Liberty Ship that ran aground on the 20th August 1944. Cargo salvage had to be given up before all was cleared so the wreck still contains explosives.
