| Precast Concrete Dormitories that housed George Wimpey`s Men that built the Airport. Mostly men from Ireland in 11 month stints so no income tax. The `Huts` ran from Dockwell Lane to Green Man Lane. Known locally as the Wimpey Camp and included a Canteen with Stage Cinema. Later became BEA`s Viking Centre. |
