Booths Hall, Knutsford. Chelford Road, Knutsford, WA16 8QZ The existing property is not listed. It was built in 1745 for Peter Legh (of the Leghs of Booths) to replace the older timber framed quadrangular house. The 1745 building was then enlarged in 1845. The family sold the property in 1917. In 2004 it was adapted for office accomodation and surrounded and dwarfed by more modern office buildings. The original Norbury Booths Hall was the home of the Legh family and was demolished in 1745. The site of the demolished hall is a listed monument and retains a partly filled large moat. There is a listed obelisk to commemorate the Legh's in a private garden across the A537, on the far side of the grounds.
