Opened in April 1933 the stadium could accommodate 20,000 spectators of which 7,000 were seated. Scene of a murder in 1936 when a man was stabbed. Closed on 4th June 1966 after being sold to property speculators who redeveloped the site into the Southside Shopping Centre, which still stands today. |
