Adams O2 tank engine backing down onto its train. The locomotive bears recently applied 'British Railways' identity on its tank sides. Images of engines facing chimney first from Cowes are comparatively rare. This was not possible after 1956 when the closure of the Newport-Sandown line left all locomotives facing chimney-first from Ryde.
