Great view. I was born in St.Andrews Square in 1930 and remember the Gasholders which can be seen to the North West and the timber yard where my brother and I used to play. Family evacuated from Hastings September 1940 shortly after bombs damaged the Cricket Ground I believe. Family never returned to Hastings but I still consider it my Home town and have visited a number of times , most recently in September 2013. I shall return!! Evacuated to Chippenham in Wiltshire. I joined the Royal Navy serving nearly 24 years. Have lived in Plymouth since 1955. |
