| Remains of original "avoiding" line that allowed direct access for trains from Southminster or Maldon to get to Southend without reversing in Wickford station. Was never much used and abandoned apart from a short stub which acted as a siding for the engineering works. That too now long gone. |

| Three Arches Railway bridge over river Crouch, either side of the bridge can be seen two thickets, these are still there to this day (Sept 2014), the right hand one is a nature reserve, called Shotgate thickets. |
