SS Cars, Triumph, Riley and Dunlop all had factories in this part of Coventry so a Piston Ring works would fit in with the other industries. The railway station centre under the road bridge was Foleshill station. |

All the above comments are correct. Holbrook Road /Lockhurst Lane is the one over the flyover, which was constructed c 1931 to replace a level crossing over the railway. The signalbox is still there, adjacent to where the gates used to be. These comments apply to the other images in the series, as listed by Andrew Bennett. |
