Butterley Reservoir, built to supply the Cromford Canal, which at this point ran under Butterley in a long tunnel - closed due to mining affecting it in 1900.

Butterley station. This is part of the Midland Railway- Butterley museum complex, though NOT this original station. The original was dismantled for refurbishment, but before it could be reconstructed, much of it was stolen. The current station is from Whitwell.

Showing the water nearly empty, then the heaviest snow in the winter,if that is the right way round on EPW050253 back in the 30s it shows it full.
