This is Burscough Bridge Goods Box, opened in 1879 and closed in 1956.It was a Saxby & Farmer Type 9 design with a 15 lever Saxby & Farmer lever frame, it was not a block post. In 1956 a new brick built ground frame replaced the box. This ground frame was situated on the opposite side of the line, it only lasted eleven years, closing in 1967. The South end of the goods yard was controlled from Burscough Bridge Junction Signal Box, part of the yard survived as a run round loop until 1990.
