| Martlesham airfield. The main RAF testing airfield before the war, when it was decided it was a bit too close to Germany, and operations were moved to Farnborough and Boscombe Down. Many RAF buildings remain, but the airfield is now industrial and housing estates. |

| The Ipswich to Saxmundham railway line that despite its elevation in the landscape. does not seem to have any defensive site along its route. Railway lines were often littered with pill boxes, especially around bridges to establish them as 'strong lines' in the landscape. |
