Porthpean Beach. In 1940 it had beach scaffolding and anti-tank pimples on the slipway up from the beach. One pimple remains and is just visible in this photograph. |

Duporth House - In 1940 used as a base after Dunkirk for the Royal Indian Army Service Corps including 25 Animal Transport Company who were often seen around the lanes of mid Cornwall exercising their mules.
In 1944 the American 531 Shore Engineer Regiment were based in the house. |
