| This girder bridge across Walton Hall Avenue was, when this photo was taken, only seventeen years on this site. It replaced a narrower bridge so to enable the widening of the avenue to a dual carriageway with a tramway running along the central reservation.The bridge is still in place, however, the railway it carried has gone, replaced by the Sustrans Transpennine cycle path. |
