Riverside Station. The first passenger train used Riverside station on 12 June 1895, an LNWR train from Stafford to Liverpool Riverside including through coaches that had travelled to Stafford from London Euston, attached to another train. The train was run to connect with the sailing of the White Star company liner ‘Germanic’. After the America entered the Second World war a number of its troops were brought in through Liverpool via Riverside station. During the war over 4,600 special trains ran to and from the station and 1,7 million soldiers passed through it. The last train to depart from Riverside was a troop train returning soldiers from a tour of duty in Northern Ireland leaving Liverpool Riverside on 25 February 1971. The station was finally demolished in 1990.

Mersey Chambers. Built in 1878 and the home of the Pier Heads "THIRD" Liver Bird.

Exchange Buildings. During World War II the building housed the Western Approaches Command for the North Atlantic German aircraft and U-boats (submarines) based on the French coast were attacking ships travelling to Britain from the USA. To try and avoid the attacks, ships were re-directed around the north of Ireland. Western Approaches Command HQ was therefore moved from Portsmouth to Liverpool on 7 February 1941. The complex housed the operations room in the basement and due to the extensive reinforced-concrete protection was known locally as the "Fortress" or "Citadel". It was designed to be both bomb and gas proof, with a 7-foot thick roof and 3-foot thick walls. It had 100 rooms covering an area of 50,000 square feet. The Royal Navy, Royal Air Force and Royal Marines worked jointly there to monitor German convoys and "wolf packs" of U-Boats, which were threatening to bring Britain to her knees in the early stages of the war. The complex was mothballed after the war but is now open as a museum with many of the original features still in place.

Martin's Bank Building. 4 Water Street. The Liverpool Head Office of Martins Bank is a Grade II listed building designed by Herbert Rowse and opened in 1932. It has been described as Rowse's "masterpiece... and among the very best interwar classical buildings in the country. During the Second World War, the bulk of England's gold was moved to the bank's vault. The bank was eventually taken over by Barclay's.

The Overhead Railway. The Liverpool Overhead Railway opened in 1893 with lightweight electric multiple units in the Liverpool Docks, Lancashire, England. It was the world's first electric elevated railway and the first to use automatic signalling and electric colour light signals. It was referred to locally as the Docker's Umbrella. In 1955 a report into the structure of the many viaducts showed major repairs were needed that the company could not afford. The railway closed at the end of 1956 and the structures were dismantled in the following year

The Bull's Head Public House. Moore Street. The pub was adjoined to The Cornmarket PH by a kitchen and in 1980 The Cornmarket was extended and incorporated the Bull's Head.

The Cornmarket Public House. Old Ropery. In 1980 it was extended through to the adjoining pub at the rear, The Bull's Head and became one pub.
