Perhaps the original photograph description was landscape near Pontypool in order to ensure that the customer who had asked for photos near Pontypool would pay for the shots. The customer might have been less happy if they knew the photo was taken near Monmouth. |

This photo is of Dixton just north east of Monmouth and is nowhere near Pontypool! The River Wye is to the right. The view is looking north. Everything fits with my new identification. |
