This is the old Airco admin building. In 1925 the empty building was used to house the original Kingsbury County School. When the school moved to its new building in Princes Avenue, the old building was occupied by Kingsbury Secondary Modern School (I'm unclear if this, in reality, was a 'technical' school as 'secondary modern' schools did not come into existence until the 1944 Butler Education Act.)
In any event, it was the precursor of the Tylers Croft Secondary Modern that subsequently moved to its Bacon Lane site in 1952. |
