| St Mary, St. Mary's Hall Road, Crumpsall.
Founded in 1839.
The first church was built on the site in 1839, but destroyed by fire after being struck by lightning on 4th January 1872.
This later church was demolished around 1977 and the site is now occupied by housing.
The roads around the site recall the church - St Marys Hall Road, Parsonage Street, Rectory Road, Rectory Avenue. |

| Railway line, Manchester Victoria (to the left) to Bury (to the right).
This was an unusual early electrified line with side contact third rail. Now operated by Manchester Metrolink as a tram line with overhead wires.
The sidings have gone. |

The third rail had a cover over it with slot for the collector shoe to enter to slide along the side of that rail. This was insisted on as this system was at 1200 volts D.C. |
