Dredger, very much needed at that location. The Basin is no longer in use in connection as entry point to the Lock and is all silted up.

This photo is dated May 1930. On 16th May 1930, the then Prime Minister, J. Ramsey MacDonald officially opened the Landing Stage, having travelled from London on a Paddle Steamer, "The Crested Eagle", to be greeted by the Band of the Coldstream Guards.
