this part of the hospital was for many years the staff canteen before becoming the I.C.U and then theatre recovery Which it is still in use as today

a pre fab ward was built here early 1950s and known as richard well ward demolished 2000s to make way for new path labs

this area was cleared of trees and marquee erected to house wounded soldiers of the great war 1914-18 the cedar tree still stands today and Bares the scars

the new operating theatres were built here opened 1955 still in use today as theatres 7 and 8 the old theatre is now pharmacy

this i believe is the mortuary of the old infirmary moved here when the original one was closed(it was situated inside the infirmary building)

avenue of 100 line trees leading upto the old infirmary presented by the sixth duke of bedford in 1827 at the last count on sunday 12/1/14 there were just five left

Chapel. When this area was redeveloped, the stained glass window of the chapel was used in St Andrew's Church in Kimbolton Road.

The Bedford County Hospital, now Bedford General Hospital. Built in 1803 to designs by John Wing. Rebuilt 1896-1899 to designs by Salter and Adams.
