A new footbridge opened by Mayor Dave Hodgson & Richard Howard (great great grandson of the original owner of the works, John Howard) on the 26th June 2014 crosses the river here. It was named the Garibaldi bridge to commemorate the 150th anniversary of Giuseppe Garibaldi’s visit to the site. The attached photo taken on the 10th February 2015 shows the original factory entrance in the distance and the new housing development on the site. |
