Royal Albert Dock Hospital (Seamen's)(1890) & London School of Tropical Diseases (1899). The Seamen's Hospital Society set this up and funded it as a branch of the Dreadnought Seamen's Hospital in Greenwich. It mainly dealt with dockworkers' injuries but was also open to the general public. The London School of Tropical Diseases began here, but later moved and combined with other bodies to become the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. Building subsidence led to the Royal Albert Dock Hospital moving to Alnwick Road in 1937.
