St Peter's Road.
A little higher in the picture is the site of the Sledmere Estate which was built in the early '50s. We moved into Windsor Crescent in 1954 - the house and street I grew up in would have been just a little above this pin marker. The waste land bellow the marker - abandoned but overgrown pit slag heaps - was our playground! |
