This is the route of the Somerset & Dorset Joint Railway branch from Edington Jct to Bridgwater. The terminus was situated beyond the bottom left of the photo' where a branch of Sainsbury's is situated today, in the distance the first station will be Bawdrip Halt. There was no physical connection between the GWR and the S&DJR Bridgwater Branch. The railway opened 1st June 1841 and closed completely 1st October 1954 - pre Marples/Beeching.
