There must be loads of pictures of this place - it wasn't hidden away - but this and a video are all I have seen. For more information and speculation, see [[http://www.cementkilns.co.uk/cement_kiln_wishaw.html]].

A reasonably detailed view for zooming in. For history and details, see [[http://www.cementkilns.co.uk/cement_kiln_dunstable.html]].

A whole bunch of photographs were taken of the site around the time of the start-up of the anhydrite process cement kilns. Unfortunately none is of great quality, but this one is sufficiently close and clear to made out a myriad of interesting details. I have a plan of the 1930 acid plant, which allows me to identify features fairly well. For history, etc, see [[http://www.cementkilns.co.uk/cement_kiln_billingham.html]].

Good view of the old wharf. When the big kilns 6 and 7 were installed in the 1930s, a new deep water wharf was added towards the left of the picture, and the old wharf remained in use for coal.

Wouldham. Shame he didn't turn slightly to the right.

There's a fair number of pictures of Kent at this time, I suppose because it was the only plant that didn't look like a dog's breakfast.

Zoom in for a great view of a chamber kiln plant.

There's a cement plant down there somewhere.

I'm waiting for someone to tell me it's kiln 4 (the Unax kiln), but I think it's too early. Were Bevans coolers below the firing floor?
