Further information (from the Industrial Railway Society book "Industrial Locomotives of Mid & South Glamorgan"): The Baguley electric locomotive was delivered in 1931 - it replaced a similar locomotive built by Bruce Peebles & Co of Edinburgh that was delivered in 1903. It's not possible to make out definitively which of the locomotives appears in this photo, if so it would help to date it. |

This picture was taken before 1941 when construction of new concrete cooling towers (shown on image WAW010638) commenced. The cooling tower replacement was part of an extension to the whole power station. |

This is a view of the Roath Power station on the outskirts of Cardiff at the junction of Newport road and Rover way. View taken looking East.The Tram depot became a bus depot. |

There are two trams alongside the depot building. The one nearest to the road (the smallest of the two)is undoubtedly the water (and track scrubbing) car no 131. That being so this is the one that is preserved and recently restored to operational condition at the National Tramway Museum, Crich, Derbyshire |
