Even more rear for what appears to have been a double track line reduced to a single track at the crossing... or is just chance that a siding ends on both sides. |

Actually, replying to Maurice's observation, contemporary OS maps indicate double track west of the crossing and single over the crossing and to the east, with a siding terminating as in the photo. |
