There seems to be no trace of the house or formal garden left on the ground. The location can be identified from the southern bank of the river. Rides/paths through the Parkland appear to remain on the ground. |

Estcourt House, Shipton Moyne is in Gloucestershre - now demolished. This garden / park -privately owned- is registered Grade II under the Historic Buildings and Ancient Monuments Act 1953 within the Register of Historic Parks and Gardens by English Heritage for its special historic interest.. List entry Number: 1001437 Landscape park developed from the late C18 through into the mid C19 as the setting for a country house (demolished). The Estate remained in the de la Estcourt family from 1303 until its sale in 1996. In the early C16, Thomas Estcourt created a park. The foundation stone of the new house was laid in October 1776, the site being c 1km to the north of the old house, the site of which became Park Farm. The old house was pulled down in 1779. 1853 improvements to the house included the addition of a bow window, billiard room, and conservatory. Formal garden laid out in 1854, with the creation of a new waterfall. The house was demolished in 1964 under the ownership of T D G Sotheron-Estcourt. |
