Lambeth Bridge House was built as government offices in the 1950s. Not architecturally outstanding; indeed Cherry and Pevsner in "Buildings of England - South London" (1983) describe it as "utilitarian and indifferent" and I wouldn't disagree with that. I visited it on a number of occasions when it was in use 1970s-1990s by the Department of Environment (I worked at one of their Research Stations). |
