The approximate location of the Z Battery in Victoria Park, designation 19Z (GDA London).

Boating lake. At one time, elegant Victorian clinker rowing boats graced this lake.

This superb Lido was opened in 1936. It was closed in 1986 and sadly demolished in 1990. It could have been remodelled to an indoor/outdoor leisure complex, but lack of vision wiped away this wonderful asset to the park. Mondo.

WW2 POW camp and barracks.

I venture to suggest this is a V-weapon site of destruction at the western boundary of the park.

Clear evidence still of the British campaign to 'Dig for Victory' with these allotments (two portions) in the park grounds.

Homerton Road bisecting Hackney Marshes
