Southdown Motor Services Hilsea East bus garage and coach station. Designed in art deco style by local architects A E Cogswell & Son, it measured 270ft wide by 220 ft deep and opened in 1934 with space for 75 vehicles. It was subsequently expanded. The building has now been demolished and replaced with an apartment complex.

I do not know what it was called at this time (suspect the building school) but was known as the Portsmouth Technical High School during my attendance between 1966-73.

Note the steam train top left hand corner heading into Portsmouth. Open space behind is Portsmouth Airport.

Prefabs in the foreground survived until early 1960's; 700 built across the city.
