London Road allotments. Bottom, left of centre. Still continues despite a corner being lost to an apartment block!

The area for Henley Road Allotments was reserved at the end of the show and is in the top left hand corner.

Thanks for adding the location of these allotments Diana - they just creep in at the edge of the image. Perhaps we will find clearer views in the negatives still to be conserved, digitised and catalogued.

I love your photograph and the forest of bamboo sticks. Do you have an active allotment society or is it local authority run?

This image is of the Wyngates allotments in Linslade, Leighton Buzzard. The allotments still exists but are about 20% of their size shown in the photo. The rest of the land is housing and a school

Were these allotment gardens tended by employees of the Co-operative Butter factory?

This image seems to have something for everyone. Sea, sand, industry, a pub and allotments. The latter still existing but reduced in number?

Can anyone one remember the meadows as allotments?? Are there any family photos taken at that time? I'd love to see them
