' Hippidrome Theatre - built 1909 changed to Gaumont Theatre in 1928 as a cinema and theatre. In 1934 the theatre became a cienma only and was operational until 1956 when Rank sold it off. The cinema was knocked down in 1958, and was replaced by a reatil unit. This has housed a supermarkert (not sure of name), Halfords, Walmsley, HFC Bank and most recently YMCA shop. '
