' Bathrock Shelter erected about 1924. This building survived the great storm of 1938 which caused a lot of damage to the promenade and the buildings facing it. In the great storm of January 2014 this building succumbed, as the sea pushed a hole in the rock wall underneath, removed the infill and the shelter subsided through the hole. '
