' The Crosse and Blackwell pickle factory. The next building to the left is the C & B warehouse. They moved out in the year of this photo. In 1926/27 the factory was converted to the Astoria Theatre, later the Astoria Cinema and Dance Hall. There is an excellent series of ground-level photos of "old" Charing Cross Road on Flickr. The set is called "Charing Cross Road before Centre Point". '
