' St Mary's Parish Church. The tower is Norman but the remainder of the church was damaged by repeated flooding, rebuilding and renovation. Great flood in 1770; repair work 1777; major rebuilding 1864; waist deep flooding in 1886. Later floods in the town include 2007 and 2008 but no serious damage was caused to the Church. '
