' Just about here was a building which was classed as an 'ancient monument', as of 1947: it is shown as such in Thomas Sharp's fearful 'Oxford Replanned' book of that time. Evidently it wasn't of such architectural value that it couldn't be bulldozed for the building of Nuffield College! But I'd be interested to know what it was... '
