The Gardeners Arms public house on the corner of Chapel Street and Castle Street. This pub was built by the same builders as the Rising Sun pub next to the canal off George Street. If you look carefully at both buildings you will see the similarity. The Gardeners Arms ceased to be a pub in the 1960's. After conversion to a house one of the residents was John Cook, a well know local historian.
