' I asked people in the port what this structure was. They were unable to find any records / plans related to it. By 1928 (building of new Locks) the structure was gone. Judging by what appears to be water to the far right of it in the picture, I am wondering if someone was trying to dig out what became the longest 'branch' (built 1962-9) of the docks. '
