' Ale shop (off sales). There was a quirky little shop here in the 1960s. It seemed kind of triangular and had "Robinsons Ales" above the door. It is long gone, as is the housing behind it, which was considered quite poor housing in its time. It was nicknamed "Cabbage Row". My father grew up at 7 Harley Road, along with his 10 brothers and sisters. Where they all slept, who knows...! '
