' I think this was known as Cowley St John School before the comprehensive system was brought in in 1972. It was a segregated school with girls being taught on the other side of the road, where Moberley Close is today. It was then transfered to Cricket Road and named Cowley St John Comprehensive. The Boys School is now East Oxford Community Centre. The girls school was demolished. '
