Pelham House Lewes. Formerly a townhouse owned by the Pelham family from 1653 when acquired from Peter Courthope. Remained in the family until leased to a local wine merchant from 1790 by Lord Thomas Pelham (1st Earl of Chichester) whose main seat was at Stanmer Park a short distance away. Sold following the earls death in 1805.
