Destroyed in the 1917 explosion, silo D was to the same design as the neighbouring silos A, B and C seen repaired and still standing. Here, the replacement for silo D still has scaffolding around the tower top, but 4 years after the blast, is nearing completion. Note that a large letter D is clearly visible in the shade at the top of the recessed section of the building. '
