E Baily & Son, maltings. Possibly built in 1893 and enlarged in 1899 and 1904. [Sources: Mary Miles – Perfectly Pure, p 33; Somerset Heritage Centre - DD\SVN/1/37]. The company also had malthouses in Bristol [Avonmouth?], Warminster and Southampton and a maize plant at Portishead. [Funeral of Alfred Richard Baily, chairman, who died in a fire at his home in February 1910 - Bristol Times and Mirror - 2 February 1910 p 7]. A R Baily was the brother of Edmund Baily.
