' The Choristers' School. On 4th May 1942 Exeter suffered a heavy air-raid as part of the notorious Baedeker Blitz and the Choristers' School, along with the neighbouring Abbot's Lodge, received a direct hit from a high-explosive bomb. Both buildings were totally destroyed. Fortunately it was the Easter holiday, so all of the choristers had gone home. '
