This area, known to the local kids as the 'Back Fields' in the 1950's & 60's, was a wasteland and unofficial adventure playground with dumped cars and other stuff to mess about with, trees to climb and the river to get wet in. It's all been tidied up and turned into a small park with children's playground, and, either side of the river, a nature reserve. I preferred it as it was, but then that's 60 years ago, when life was both simpler and safer..... '
