' The Reay Gear Works which was originally the Platers Sheds for the Newcastle Shipbuilding Co who went bankrupt. In later years it was taken over and became Geo Angus Gear Works. Eventually it became RW Transmissions. It finally closed in the 1970s and a new housing estate stands on the land now called Tyne View Est.
