' Riverside Secondary School. Following a trip to California in the early 1920s the Education Board thought it would be a good idea to emulate their state-side colleagues by building schools on an E-plan, the E representing Education. These were built with east-facing open verandahs which must have been a seriously chilling experience given our Scottish winters. The school was demolished quite some time ago. '
