' Neasden Power Generating Station. Built by the Metropolitan Railway in about 1904 to generate power for the newly electrified sections of the railway. It was built on the site of what had been the company gasworks, which supplied the gas used for lighting the old carriages. At about the same time, the rival Metropolitan District Railway built a generating station at Lots Road, Chelsea to supply their own needs. '
