The Albion Inn. Known as the pub on an island because it was surrounded by canals. My parents ran it for 2 years. (1958 to 1960) A beautiful Victorian building, tatty on the outside but stunning inside. All polished wood, stained glass windows & brass fittings. Upstairs was a club room with a stage...from the days of music halls?? The cellar had a vaulted roof that was strengthened during ww2 so that it could be used as an air raid shelter.
