' This late, handsome victorian house with extensive landscaped garden was owned by the Barrat family. In the late 50's, early 60's it was left unoccupied and unfortunately became vandalised into a wreck by probably every local child under the age of twelve who treated it as a adventure play ground. A great shame. Subsequently demolished and the plot re-developed into typically dross 1960's flats. The Barrats edwardian style sweet factory at the time was near Wood Green underground station. '
